Cash Portfolio

The Fund's Cash Portfolio consists of Interest Bearing Deposit (IBD) and Treasury Bills with maturity up to 90 days. Over the six months to 30 June 2004, total cash portfolio increased by 33.22% from K62.25 million at the end of first quarter to K82.93 million or 10.29% of the total asset portfolio. Total income of K4.0 million was received for the 6 months period.

However, with interest rates on a downward trend, the Fund switched from long term to short-term maturity period of 30 days. This strategy change will enable POSF to take advantage of any upward movement in interest rates and allows flexibility should other investment opportunities become available.
